Sustaining and engaging customer relationships is the top issue that keeps CMOs up at night, according to a new study.
A survey from Korn Ferry asked CMOs what four issues kept them awake at night and 34 percent of CMOs said creating sustainable and engaging customer relationships and improving the customer experience as their top concern, according to MarketingCharts.
Other issues that keep CMOs awake:
– 27 percent were concerned about staying ahead and taking advantage of digital technology trends such
as social and mobile
– 26.5 percent say ability to demonstrate marketing’s ROI
– 12.6 percent say alleging marketing with overall business strategy
More than half of CMO respondents — or 57 percent — said that CMOs don’t stay in the job itself long compared to other C-level positions because of the “inability to directly connect marketing efforts to tangible business outcomes,” according to MarketingCharts.
