Funny note out of Weld results: Two votes were cast for Longmont mayor because of how that city's limits run
: One for Bryan Baum and one for Dennis Coombs.
By the way, about 150 votes have been counted in Weld County for Thompson School District.
With 52,000 votes counted, Weld is 70-30 against Amendment 66, 64-36 in favor of Proposition AA.
That Weld secession vote is losing, by a 58-42 margin, with 52,000 votes cast. I think it's early enough to call that one dead on arrival.
It also appears the Johnstown/Milliken recreation center will lose again by a pretty wide margin.
Have the first statewide numbers I've seen. Amendment 66 is getting crushed, 65 percent to 35 percent, with more than 500,000 votes counted. Proposition AA is winning by the same margin.
Those state totals don't include Weld, either. Amendment 66 is done for.
Sports guys are bummed about the secession vote: They were hoping to drop the road trips to schools in Weld County.
Another 100,000 votes counted at the state level: No change. Amendment 66, losing 65-35, Prop AA winning, 65-35.
Those poor numbers for 66 don't include Weld or Larimer but do include partial results from Denver Boulder and Mesa counties. As I said earlier: crushed.
To be clear, Amendment 66 is getting crushed. The post is not about me, personally.
I'm really surprised at the wide split on the Weld secession question. For giggles, I went out to see what Phillips County has for its secession vote. Cue the sad trombone: Their results aren't available online.
