8pm update - Stalybridge coming back into game, but unable to get past the Southport defence, although they are zipping the ball around the pitch nicely. No chances since McGinn's early header.

Paul Barratt had another good chance for Southport just after the half hour, but he shot his chance wide, with only Carnell to beat, although his shot did not have a lot of conviction.

9.15 update - Stalybridge mounted good attack as Richard Battersby put a good cross from the right over to Banim, who threw himself at ball, but unable to make contact. Moments later, a long throw from Matty McGinn went through to Steve Daly on the back post, who was just unable to control his shot, with the ball going over the bar.
