A whopping 85 percent of sports fans go to their mobile phones after seeing ads for entertainment events on other channels, according to research on mobile and sports ticketing released Thursday by the Internet Advertising Bureau Mobile Center and InMobi.
Nearly half of mobile sports fans — or 49 percent — said they find information about entertainment activities using their mobile device. Sports fans also use their mobile phones during games to record videos and watch replays.
Not surprisingly, the data show sports fans prefer fun and relevant ads and 36 percent of respondents prefer ads that showcase video, sound and photos.
