Avinash Kaushik has taken the stage at eMetrics Washington (http://emetrics.org/washingtondc/)
His arm's in a sling. Has to have a plate put into his hand on Thursday. Had been scheduled for surgery Tuesday morning, but could not not show up, so he's here!
It's his right hand, so instead of a book signing after, it'll be a "book hugging" :)
#1 Upgrade: Unique Visitor metric improvement: New "Unique Visitor" metric can be pulled into custom reports. No longer an "N/A". Can trend "Unique Visitors", review keywords by Unique Visitors, not just Visits.
De-duped Unique Visitor numbers.
#2 - Advanced Table Filtering - less need to export to Excel.
The new "advanced filter" link is at the bottom of the page, to the right of the containing/excluding filter box.
"Advanced Filtering" #ganalytics will reduce our very long lists of Adv Segments. Will speed up slicing & dicing for insight #emetrics
#3 Upgrade: Improved conditional goal setting. 20 goals instead of just 4. [This will help content sites immensely!]
#4 - Custom Variables! [No more having to overwrite other dimensions!]
Custom variables - sprop and evars rolled into one...."The only limit is your imagination"
#5 - Mobile App Tracking
Two methods: trackPageview or trackEvent. Go to website and download SDK.
6 - Alerts!
Create custom alert, with conditions that are either 'dimensions' or 'metrics'.
Can set alert sensitivity by individual alert, not one setting overall from 'low' to 'high'.
Blog metrics alert from Avinash: if referral path contains 'blog' and average time onsite is greater than 120 seconds. He's already found new blogs from this alert.
#7 Upgrade - #ganalytics Intelligence - Control limits. Adjustable Sensitivity analysis and forecasting. #emetrics
Business intelligence, predictive analytics...without add-on tools. Truly a WOW!
Official announcement is here:

End of Avinash's session. Now going to watch Phil Mui from Google dive further into the upgrades.
Phil's having problems demo'ing alerts in Google Chrome :) Switching to Firefox.
All #ganalytics upgrades available within next 3 weeks. 1% will have access this week. But if you're here at #emetrics, can get access now.
Wrapping up this event. Going to watch Hitwise.
