Perma: Built
GigPark to be useful with small groups of ppl sharing. Ppl love to help each other. Groups usually start with a question: e.g."I'm going away on vacation, who can watch my house"

Daniel: Got into GigPark via FB app. Is it working for you guys?
by Jonathan Keebler (Live) at 5/21/2008 7:35:09 PM
Perma: It's a utility you can use everywhere. That's going to be really important for all of these sites (tie into existing networks).

Candice: It's getting easier for sites like ours with data portability (take your network of friends with you). We are working on a FB application. We are not just about your friends; really great content from trusted sources.

Daniel: Friends do a lot of legwork, but the lurkers are a huge piece of the traffic on Digg. Followers are still there in a lot of these networks.|

Perma: Not right now.
by Jonathan Keebler (Live) at 5/21/2008 7:39:56 PM
Daniel: Some partnerships, but don't give them any more clout in the site. More justgiving them syndication content. Mainly just working with each other on things.

Question: Everyone saying same info over and over again on these social sites. How inject new information and keep things fresh? New ideas being added.
by Jonathan Keebler (Live) at 5/21/2008 7:41:34 PM
Candice: Making sure to incent content creation in such a way that produces fresh content. e.g. what's popular this week. > quality and diversity, < quantity of content.

Question: RSS: At end of the day, won't all sites be going into an RSS reader?
by MDM at 5/21/2008 7:44:29 PM
Candice: Maybe some ppl. Some ppl like that experience. Others like exploring and searching.
by Jonathan Keebler (Live) at 5/21/2008 7:44:49 PM
Perma: Think it's great that all RSS feeds are created equal. As readers get smarter, ppl will take control more themselves.
by Jonathan Keebler (Live) at 5/21/2008 7:45:27 PM
Daniel: You can participate from RSS feeds. Richer stuff you can do on a website vs. an RSS feed.

Question: When will last newspaper roll off the presses in Canada?
by Jonathan Keebler (Live) at 5/21/2008 7:46:33 PM
Moderator (from Globe and Mail): They'll be around for a good long time. There will always be ppl that read newspapers.
by Jonathan Keebler (Live) at 5/21/2008 7:46:45 PM
Daniel: Newspaper is suppose to be current, but it's out of date the moment it's printed. ePaper will come out eventually. Production cost is so high (fleets of trucks). "That's crazy!". Newspapers produce awesome content.
