Join The Times European Football Correspondent in an hour of debate from 1pm today and every Monday lunchtime.
Gabriele Marcotti is just warming up and will be with you in fifteen minutes. But feel free to get your questions in early, including your reaction to John Terry's sacking as England captain, Uefa's new financial controls or Chelsea impressive dismissal of Arsenal on Sunday.
Couple of minutes to kick off, just doing some stretching...
Hi Philip, those were the same guys who said I (and others) were fools for questioning his decision not to bring in another centerforward (even if just for the bench) last summer. Buffon would be a bit expensive.
Landon's doing OK, this might just be the season when he finally does it in Europe as well. But I don't think he'll stay, he's happy in MLS.
Raymond, for guys like Chamakh or Jovanovic, joining Liverpool is such a jump in status (and wages) they would join regardless who the manager is...
Mash - I really don't know... I guess he looked at the fact that Arsenal were scoring plenty of goals and felt it wasn't necessary... hindsight is 20-20... that said, it could also be that maybe - despite the denials - there isn't as much money there as he would like
I'm always skeptical when people link training to injuries, because we're not there at the training sessions... But guys like Camoranesi and Del Piero are getting on and have a history of injuries... so too does Momo... injuries didn't help, but, overall, it's just a poorly assorted team, IMHO
I think it's great. Displaying the green and gold is a civil but effective way of expressing your concern...
OK fine... but he does bring people in every year, doesn't he? If there's the right guy, he goes for him (witness Arshavin who was potentially more disruptive than another Bendtner-type).
John G - Didn't see it, but I do know him and, personally, I don't find him biased at all. If it was disagreeable, it's just his opinion. I'd vouch for the fact that he is one guy who does not have an agenda...
Yeah, Montenegro has a few individuals who can cause trouble (Jovetic, anyone?).. But the fact is that it's so early, some of these sides could look very different in a year's time...
I really don't understand this at all.. if they can bring players in without accumulating further liabilities, why shouldn't they be allowed to do so?
Nesta, Totti, Cassano... in that order...
Not sure... but even without them, West Ham have enough to stay up, IMHO...
Mash - Maybe he's banking on the CL... Porto not going through a great seasona and, once you reach the last eight, anything can happen...
I'd give Arsenal 10 percent (which is more than my colleagues on The Game podcast were giving them this morning)... The CL could be a big distraction for Chelsea and United, you never know...
Josh - I reckon Leverkusen can do it, but it will be tough. Kiessling has to keep scoring, the defence needs to hold up and, most of all, the wunderkind Kroos needs to keep up his good work...
The officiating was all over the place in the Merseyside derby... you want to see guys getting stuck in, what you don't want to see is players getting hurt...
Absolutely... here's a stat for you: European Countries have won all but two WCs held outside North or South America...
Tim V - Absolutely NOT!!!
Timbo - He probalby does and I think he'll get one... the curious bit is at what level? Are talking top eight? Mid-table? Relegation-threatened? If he doesn't get an Everton-calibre or above, he probably should not come back...
Theo, it's all about opinion. Ronaldo or Messi at their best would probably be better than Rooney, no?
