5am EDT: Ninth depression of the 2012 Atlantic Hurricane has formed East of the Lesser Antilles. Maximum sustained winds at 35mph with a general movement to the West at 20mph.

8am EDT: Intermediate Advisory from the NHC: Still a tropical depression moving west at 20mph. Center is located 645 miles East of Guadeloupe. Expected to become a tropical storm later today.

11am EDT: Tropical Depression #9 still steadily heading westward toward the Lesser Antilles.

Tropical Storm Warnings have been issued for:

* Martinique
* Dominica
* Guadeloupe and the Surrounding Island...and St. Martin
* St. Kitts...Nevis...Antigua...Montserrat...Anguilla...and Barbuda
* Saba...St. Eustatius...and St. Maarten

Tropical Storm Watches issued for:
* British Virgin Islands
* Puerto Rico...Vieques...Culebra...and The U.S. Virgin Islands

2pm EDT: Intermediate Advisory from the NHC: Hurricane Hunters heading toward TD #9 to see if it has become a tropical storm.

Center is 550 miles East of Guadeloupe, max winds of 35mph, moving to the West at 18mph

5pm EDT: We have Isaac! Hurricane hunter aircraft investigated Tropical Depression #9 and found slightly lower pressure and surface winds estimated at 35kts.

New Tropical Depression has formed behind Isaac! The projected patch of this storm is different than Isaac and is supposed to stay in Eastern Atlantic eventual turning NW and well south of Bermuda by early Monday.

From The Virgin Islands Territorial Emergency Management Agency:

The Department of Public Works has begun issuing sandbags territorywide for residential properties. Sandbags are being distributed from the Cotton Valley and Grove Place fire stations on St. Croix. On St. Thomas sandbags are being issued from the Hotel Company, Tutu and Bordeaux fire stations. On St. John, sandbags are available at the Public Works facility in Susannaberg.

Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn tells CNN that his town is preparing for Tropical Storm Isaac if it hits during the Republican National Convention. Buckhorn says, "I feel like an athlete, we've trained hard, we've trained for a year-and-a-half." The mayor says they will have 400 buses for necessary transportation.
