Trends in User Research: interesting comments about the lingo. One example about not bringing in the word "usability" into the project so you don't daunt/scare/put off people. Or... perhaps people know what the word is, but don't know what it entails, what lies behind the words. Answer there: ask questions to get at the essence.

Sometimes a manager asks for training when there is really a simpler solution such as an easy process change. Instructional designers should not just be order takers. Use the analysis phase to think of a solution that may or may not be training.
