We'll be getting started at 9 pm EST. See you then!
Ready. Set. Go!
Vague, Mr. Dion. Referencing people to your platform isn't really an answer.
Don't Panic!
May: Remember, Canada and U.S. are not the same. Great plan
Stephen Harper is on the attack against Dion. I think that was a throw-down
Blue tie, Jack?
Layton is mentioning Harper's corporate tax cuts--AGAIN
"Effective regulations on our financial sector." Pretty nice timely reference. It'll play with people who've followed the news today and not liked what they saw.
Duceppe and Layton are wearing the exact. Same. Tie.
Perhaps Jack is no longer trying to be Barack Obama and is now trying to be Gilles Duceppe.
"We've made very different choices in Canada." Pretty good response to Dion's accusations, granted.
Harper is listing off his resume of not throwing Canada into a recession, but isn't spending too much time revealing a plan for the future.
Corporate tax cuts! I smell a theme.
Layton's trying to back Harper into an "Our Economy Is Strong" corner.
Sorry, "The fundamentals of our economy are strong."
Harper knew the economy was tanking a year ago? Really?
Harper doesn't think Canadians are worried about losing their job. That's probably true, since many Canadians have already lost their jobs.
Harper just referred to Jack Layton as "the opposition." Sorry Dion.
Burn!
Dutch disease. Scary.
Why give tax cuts to companies who will ship jobs overseas? Good question.
Harper's answer: some jobs lost, some gained. It all comes out in the wash.
"We don't have a banking crisis in Canada" -- Harper. On record.
Duceppe,| it's not nice to interrupt.
Elizabeth May just quoted a Harper speech from over a decade ago saying that "Canadian jobs are fine." She is on fire tonight!
"Harper, we think you should be on the way out." - Layton, who says people are having to work two and three jobs to make ends meet and Harper is doing nothing about it.
Layton just called Harper "cold-hearted."
Duceppe, Layton, May and Dion are all ganging up on Harper. I'd almost feel bad for him if he didn't look so damn smug.
Canadian flag lapel pin check! Harper, yes. Duceppe, no. Layton, no. May, looks like an Order of Canada pin (disqualified). Dion, no.
Elizabeth May actually has an Order of Canada though. The other four? Nope.
Touché.
Layton has turned on Dion. Acting like the opposition.
Let's not kid ourselves. Layton is the opposition
"Not a left-wing policy, not a right-wing policy, it's a sound policy." Not bad. That'll play.
Jobs! Of! The! Future!
We can all be robots. Like Harper!
Ask and answer! Ask and answer! The moderator is in trouble.
Strange for the Green Party to want to "bring the manufacturing sector" and "pulp and paper sector" back.
Steve Paikin could school any of these guys before breakfast.
"It is false economics to build ships in South Korea than to create jobs here." Good one, May.
Harper is talking and Duceppe is taking notes. What's he got up his sleeve.
