If you are curious to see how far things have changed in the past year with regard to fundraisers' use of Twitter, have a look at my blog post from 10 July 2008 following last year's National Convention:
www.fundraising.co.ukThere were just three of us (out of 1,500 or so at the event) using Twitter to report on or even discuss the biggest event in the fundraiser's calendar. The other two were @jon_bedford and @rachelbeer. Rachel even pondered "Is this the tipping point for UK charities’ adoption of social media?" at
thecharityplace.typepad.comBut as you can see from just the foregoing tweets, this year's Convention is going to witness agood deal more Twittering from fundraisers and other delegates at the event.
Notice how discussion of the event has already begun, days before the Convention gets underway. Without doubt, conversations about the event will continue after the event for several days. We`ll gather them here and on our report on the second day of the Convention.
