Live Blogging Event: Holmes Inspection, Ep. 7

Kim and Daniel bought this house so that their two little girls could grow up in a safe family home. They really tried to follow the advice of their home inspector, but problems were missed and things went from bad to worse. Now they need a Holmes Inspection, and for Mike, Damon and the crew to Make it Right.

  • Mike Holmes has done more than anyone else to explain all the facets of home renovation and to make it understandable to lay people. He is fantastic.

  • Hi Andy!
by hgtvcanada at 11/13/2009 1:01:54 AM
  • Mike's shows are really enjoyable. They could be improved by providing more (any!) info about the time and cost of the various tasks.

For instance, when a bathroom is renovated, spend some time describing the time and cost to tear-out, rebuild, install, moving plumbing, cost of fittings, etc

  • Love the new show. Wish Mike had a "Ask Mike" service for those of us not living in TO. I live in the boondocks and have not been able to find a local "contractor"who can tell me what to do about cracks in my basement floor and walls. :(

  • Major shock hazard, after the commercial. It must feel like you've just been completely duped, I can' t imagine being worried your home is harming your kids.

  • I wonder what the estimate to fix this problems is at this point?

  • Looking to be about $18K so far
    by Sec328 at 11/13/2009 1:28:36 AM
  • its not just the inspectors. the realtors need to be trained to allow more time for the inspector
by Gerry at 11/13/2009 1:31:41 AM
  • Realtors also need to recommend trustworthy inspectors, not just their friends -- or not recommend at all.
by Dawn at 11/13/2009 1:33:34 AM
  • Both good points, Dawn and Gerry
