by MickFealty at 4/24/2009 8:47:58 PM
  • Ok a little background for the many who couldn't care - McGuinness was sacked on Wednesday with 6 other Juniors - He was a junior in Dept of Employment and Enterprise. The story goes according to Mark Hennesy and others - Tanaiste and McGuinness didn't get on at all - www.irishtimes.com and it's rumoured Mary Coughlan said John McGuinness went or she did...

  • @AdamMaguire exactly... here is my list of questions 1, 2, 3, 4,.... finished. #latelate

  • Now McGuinness was portrayed as a bumbling cantankerous guy who was open to letting things slip. He was however someone who had experience running his own business that was not a legal practice or a pub (rare amongst his peers) and was not afraid to challenge sectoral interests including public sector employees.
by Suzy Byrne at 4/24/2009 8:53:57 PM
  • Ok here we go...
by Suzy Byrne at 4/24/2009 8:56:48 PM
  • Whoo, here we go. Come on, Pat, there's no way this *can't* be interesting...
by Christine Bohan at 4/24/2009 8:56:57 PM
  • McGuinness does not believe he was punished for his outspoken views.
by Suzy Byrne at 4/24/2009 8:57:15 PM
  • McGuinness starts off very benignly "Well, 21 into 15 just won't go..."
by Christine Bohan at 4/24/2009 8:57:23 PM
  • Will the questions actually be good or will it be a walk through?
by NeoLiberalScum at 4/24/2009 8:58:31 PM
  • FOund Dept of Enterprise is least enterprising dept of all.
by Suzy Byrne at 4/24/2009 8:58:54 PM
  • Is this where he says Mary Coughlan is not competent?
by Suzy Byrne at 4/24/2009 8:59:15 PM
  • Does not believe that Coughlan is in right position.
by Suzy Byrne at 4/24/2009 8:59:51 PM

by MickFealty at 4/24/2009 9:00:26 PM
  • Woah. Asked if he has confidence in Coughlan: "I don't believe she's in the right position"
by Christine Bohan at 4/24/2009 9:00:28 PM
  • McGuinness is obviously going after Coughlan, not Cowen. That comment about the Dept of Enterprise was pretty pointed.
by Christine Bohan at 4/24/2009 9:00:29 PM

by Suzy Byrne at 4/24/2009 9:02:51 PM

by Christine Bohan at 4/24/2009 9:03:00 PM
