Mark: Set there company up to revolutionize the use of your mobile device to empower you to use it to it full potential. The CFL for example will be able to engage with of CFL fans, buy tickets, chat...Hmmmm
Mod: 20 Millions subscribers. We pay 40 %more in fees. Smart phones have had a huge impact. Q: What can we learn from the US?
Paul: It is expensive in CA for data plan in Canada. Perhaps a Rev. share model with ad subsidized plans.
Mark: Monetization model is tough. It may be free. We are testing the waters in the whole spectrum. You need to look over the boarders to really make money. Companies should look over seas. The fastest going markets are also in Latin America. Canadian should embrace the fact that we are world class in the digital market.
Kay: Mobile games is 4 Billion dollars worldwide. There is tremendous potential. To make it even more attractive we need to content, distribution (handsets etc), discoverability, quality, and easy of use. Nokia did a huge study and resulted in their new platform.
Vince: The roll of content? That's a main reason we are successful.
Q: Ads or pay per view.
Paul: Both, we need to have both models in order to make money. Kay: For us it's not the right time for ad support revenue. We charge around $5. Mark: It will depend on the use. The younger you are the more ads support you accept. If that continues as they grow up if will change the market. Choice is the key. Me as an old, this is scary. Use you voice mail to analyze and target an ad. Wow! that scares me. (the google ad sense of voice mail)
Paul: What are these ads going to look like. Kay: you can not copy and paste your ads. We ned to re-think it on line. Mark: need to try and change ads into more useful medium. If you tell Viigo what you are looking for you can opt in to have Viigo find it via you location.
Q: Social networks and how it will translate to mobile and make money.
Kay: it's there now. It's not perfect. Some are now translating the interface to work better in the mobile device.
Mark: Move away from Facebook = Social Media. Your friends need to be available in all areas you use, mobile, etc.
Kay: We have our own social network.
Vince: Our technology is already there as well. Using there tech to move around.
QA
Q: What about local.
Kay: Localization is key. Turn over rates in some countries is 2-3 months. New technology allows them to offer new services. You need to be localized.
Q: Is the web the platform.
Paul: Yes it will still be there. We did not go the downloadable route. Mark: There is something to the application that can offer a better experience than the web browser. Viigo is extremely fast. The best mobile interface is the iphone. Those 200,000 developers download the iPhone Dev. kit for a reason.
Q: Safety. Re online stocking.
Paul: This is exciting/scary issue. Privacy, how d we combat that effectively. No real answer at this time.
