Steve: The CBC puts it out there and will try lots of different things. You need to take your audience into account and what they expect of you.

There was an event that a company was going do but the images of people drinking would end up on the web so they dialed it back.

Mark: Give control back to the fans. Peter Jackson reach out and showed people online and gained value back to the fans. Steve: some dude at CBC has his name on every Lord of the Rings movie credits and a "Thanks to the fans"

Steve: If you give ownership to the fans they will pass it on to there friends. Ron: Fans you used their own social networks to see what other fans were getting paid. Ended up that the fans demanded a 1.99 US flat rate.

Jen: how can you create value for your friend so the fan base will grow. Jet Stream was her last project and discussed weather to use existing social networks or create their own. They chose to tap in and it worked extremely well. Ended in mid-Fed and they are still posting today.

Steve: That's what's it's truly about. We go out to the community on their terms and create value and relevance. 100,000 podcast downloads of all Canadian music. There are pockets of fans everywhere. All around the world.

Steve: The guys who start the CBC 3 fan group on face book is just a fan. If he says it's awesome then it's awesome. They control the mySpace group but there are other people on mySpace creating groups.

Matt: we don't want to control but we try to direct it. We answer blog posts and try to correct the issues that arise. Be transparent as possible.

Jen: How to strengthen your community. Using the existing community to story tell ARG's alternate realities. Using Facebook, youTube to create a buzz. The Lost Ring is a big one now. It's all sponsored by McDonalds but there is no blatant branding in the game.
