In the UK a national platform has been created, called Put People First
www.putpeoplefirst.org.uk which includes trade unions, development groups, anti-poverty groups as well as environmental organisations. There are currently 160 national groups and networks supporting the Put People First platform. The groups are calling on the G20 leaders to: 'Put People First - and take action on Jobs, Justice and Climate'.

Had lunch with Samantha Bonnar, one of the organizers who helped bring the bloggers to London for the Summit. This truly is breaking a barrier. Ordinary people are being invited to share news of the summit online and engage an online audience like has never been done before. Bloggers are arriving today (Tuesday) and tomorrow we'll be meeting and sharing ideas and getting to know one another and have some briefings on what to expect. Then Thursday we go live just like all the other media who will be covering the event, except we'll be doing it with a live engaged audience. I hope you are getting excited. WE are!
Use Twitter? You might enjoy the Tinker feed of Twitter posts mentioning the G20.

Watch Live! How Obama's Blog and social media approach changed politics.

It's exciting that Obama started his career as a grass roots community organizer getting ordinary people together for change.
Obama's citizen blogging, online diary approach to campaign was the first major way grassroots people could reach an audience. #g20voice
Yes WE can Video and Obama blue/red poster were user-generated viral campaign tools.
MyBarackObama.com was not a social networking site, it was an grassroots activist mobilizing site.
Was going to go on a short downtown walking tour, but bank crowds will make it difficult
