- t 5:30 I believe I saw two of the eaglets flying east from over the river behind the zoo. They were having trouble gaining altitude from the weight of the fish--flying low and wobbling a bit. They came off the river and over the road right in front of my car and into some trees! I was stunned. Is it possible that they are already catching their own food? Would they hunt together like that? These birds were much bigger than ospreys. They really looked like the eagle(s) I’ve spotted in the area for the last couple of days.
