Anyone live blogging for Dragons Den tonight or is it another Twitter following? #ddire
Test post
@keithbelfast You can't pick up the live stream on RTE.ie in the North at all?
i can't see any option for a live link. url? i feel like i'm in a library not able to find the book in front of me...
Hey Leon. Live blogging interface - handy for embedding elsewhere as well (like the embed on kenmc.com). Think it had been used for the Ard Fheis at the weekend
Keith - try and see what you get
If you guys have any more questions or anything, I'm jonathan@scribblelive.com
wahey! it's like there's no border! thanks ken!
Cheers Jonathan
Anyone know who or what is coming up on tonight's show?
Looking forward to DD tonight, never been this exited about an irish tv program! Well I say exited...#ddire
back now, enjoying a nice cuppa. i like this site. nice and slick
@mattfinucane It's snazzy alright, could see how it would work well for events, simple interface.
yep, just as long as someone doesn't hack it a la macrumors.com at the last macworld :)
was macrumours.com running the same platform for macworld? nasty.
it wasn't, something like this though :)
They were using their own platform and were man-in-the-middle attacked :)
Aha - cheers Jonathan. What's the biggest event that's seen Scribblelive used in an official capacity? Out of interest...
Probably something to do with the US election or MacWorld in January. We've done 6-digit number of uniques in a few hours. Liveblogging is a harsh mistress :)
@omahonydonnelly Not if it's posting in here - it's just straight posting all in the one channel.
i love the interface - def the nicest liveblogging platform i've seen in a while. I don't like the over-graphicy embedded one that huffington and slugger o'toole have used in recent times.
Thanks keithbelfast. We try to stay lean-and-mean, and let our Enterprise customers have fun skinning us. Happy liveblogging all!
Like this as my non-irish followers won't get bombarded with my Dragon's Den tweets.
I wonder how these things do live updates. Does some script poll another script which polls the database every so often ?
this your work jonathan keebler ? a pat on the back for you sir !
Less than an hour to go as well, actually have popcorn ready for tonight's watching
tea gone, was a lovely cuppa
if i have more ill have no sleep and ill be dog tired for fowa tomorrow
anyone going to that ?
@mattfinucane We actually host all the Ajax polling out on Amazon S3 so we can handle the tens of thousands of hits we get per second. Yah, this is my baby (it shows like a proud poppa)
Cool. Where are you based ?
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
