NA: at google you basically set 3 Ps to zero. price is zero, promotion is zero and place to zero
digital target advertising didn't work out for the media industry as they've thought it would do
recreating the offline world on the internet isn't doable
the reach of every site on the internet is the total reach of all people who have access to the internet, which is 1.4b people
it is easier to earn a very small amount of money from a lot of people, than a big amount of money from few people
NA: i'm very positive about video content on the internet
NA: there is whole new category of content that is emerging
SP: google starts looking a big media machine
NA: In a a few years it won't matter if you get your content via a broadcast or an IP connection
SP: this is a magnitude 9 earth quake for the content owners. are you talking to them?
NA: you can not do this without the content owners and we are talking to them
NA: you work with whoever has the rights to the content
SP: how do you talk to companies like comcast, who are content creators, distributors, ... - do you talk to them?
NA: of course
NA is caring not one but two Nexus Ones

SP: are you trying to recreate the open environment of the internet in the mobile sector?
NA: totally
SP: do you think search will be as important on mobile as it is on the desktop?
NA: I think the distinction between desktop and mobile will fade
SP: are you worried that the value of a search engine will decline, if you don't have access to some parts?
NA: We track everything!
SP: What scares Google?
NA: 10 years ago nobody would have named google as a disrupter and probably something similar will happen again
SP: are you worried about german publishers?
NA: all our rules and ways our live is designed didn't anticipate the Internet and that's why we need to change some things because the old rules aren't holding up
the consumers needs are constantly changing and we are convinced that search will continue a big role in the future
NA: i get a lot of my news based on my twitter feeds
SR: will there be google stores? NA: i learned to expect almost anything from google
