Ronan Mullen calling for a free vote and a vote of conscience on the CP Bill #cpbill
Mullen is arguing that there has not been enough debate - even in Holland he says there would be party to represent views like his and they would have a say.
He feels parties have not allowed debate and won't allow members to freely vote.
David Norris says that the motion re allowing free vote is inappropriate to call for by independents - it's a matter for parties.
Norris calls for changes to the CP bill to respect the rights of children. He appeals - and says Ombudsman for Children has said that the rights of children are being violated by not being included.
David Norris says government has opportunity, justification and reason from the Colley Report to protect rights of children #cpbill

Listening to the #cpbill debate and the Postal Service at the same time makes it sounds like an epic techno remix.
jaysus, new bill name is a mouthful #cpbill
Once he stops trying to promote FF it's good to hear him taking a strong line. He has been very consistent all the way through this.
if the bill went further it would undermine our laws and our constitution - I'm paraphrasing but that's just from Dermot Ahern #cpbill
How did we manage to have such a pro-active sensible trailblazing piece of legislation #cpbill in such a retro-conservative country? Happy!
Dermot Ahern speaking in the Seanad now #cpbill
Oh, so the #cpbill is now the #cpcrocbill?
unfourtunately, given our very conservative supreme court, Dermot is right- SC is not gonna change def of marriage #cpbill
Is watching the #cpbill in the Seanad (online)
Rights of children being reviewed by the law reform commission - making final recommendations later this year. Issue too complex for #cpbill
So they have 'worked out' the way around marriage to frame the Bill, but it was too much trouble to 'work out' something re: children and children's rights - lazy minister!!
