Hello, and welcome to AppStorm’s live coverage of Apple’s keynote at the Worldwide Developers Conference.
As always with Apple events, the blogosphere rumour mill has been churning out “leaks” and likely announcements in the run-up to this year’s WWDC. A year or so ago, though, Tim Cook told Walt Mossberg that Apple intended to “...double down on secrecy on products” and it would seem that this intention has been put into practice – no-one outside of Apple knows for sure what the content of today’s presentation will be.
That is not to say there are not credible suggestions as to possible new and updated products which may be revealed today. Numerous media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal, have speculated that Apple will reveal a new service, named iRadio – potentially a form of music streaming service, in the mould of Google Play and Spotify.
More notable, however, was the WSJ’s suggestion that iOS 7 will be unveiled in the keynote, complete with a new, Jony Ive-driven “flat” interface.
There is an outside chance that the Macbook Pro line of high-end laptops will receive a refresh, and there is also a possibility that the Mac Pro range might receive an update.
Whatever comes of today’s announcement, though, the team at AppStorm will be bringing you live updates of the keynote, as well as incisive reaction and comment – sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!
