RT @drjjoyner: @bj0252 Emmitt was a great, great back. But, even as die-hard Cowboys fan, not in the top 5. He stayed healthy a long tim ...
Greetings, and welcome to our Hall of Fame chat. Like you, we'll be following along with the speeches, etc. Give us your impressions of those speeches, festivities, playing careers of the enshrinees, anything and everything HOF. Have fun.
Hola, folks. We're about 15 minutes away from the 2011 Hall of Fame induction ceremony. There won't be a HOF Game this year, but that just means more time to focus on this year's inductees. So let's get to it...
So far in the pre-ceremony NFL Network show: we've had mentions of Deion's jheri curl, and Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg sightings.
BREAKING: Deion plans to reveal a secret tonight during his speech. Here's to hoping it has something to do with bringing back the jheri curl.
Deacon Jones: Shannon Sharpe "was the first guy crying at the jacket ceremony."
+ infinity to NFL Network for their Hall of Fame coverage introduction music: The Black Keys.
Just saw an image of a Browns fan getting his picture taken with the Lombardi Trophy. Sadly, that's as close as a Browns' jersey will get to the Super Bowl.
Deion fashion update: he's wearing Michael Jackson's shades from that '80s Coke commercial with Alfonso Ribeiro.
Shannon Sharpe is talking to NFL Network's Kara Henderson right now and he's doing his best to fight back the tears. So, yeah, there's a 100 percent chance he cries early and often during his speech.
...And we're off. Chris Berman is your master of ceremonies!
Berman introduces Roger Goodell as "the man responsible for their being football for the next 10 years." Goodell is promptly booed.
Ed Sabol is the first inductee recognized. At 94, he's also the oldest.
After seven tries, Richard Dent finally makes it to Canton, and he joins Sabol on the stage right now.
RT @CindyBoren: Words cannot describe how disappointed I am when I turn on an event like the HoF inductions and there's Chris Berman. Bl ...
RT @McClain_on_NFL: Someday, I hope I cover Andre Johnson's induction. He's off to a good start with 8 terrific years, but he needs more..
Roger Goodell just announced that he has fined James Harrison. (That's a joke -- but admit it, you wouldn't have been shocked if it were true.)
Dear Chris Berman: you have a microphone. No need to yell. Thanks!
RT @pdomo: Ed Sabol had a saying at NFL Films -- finish like a pro. In a few minutes, the 95-year-old founder of Films will enter the HOF.
Not exactly a sellout at Canton today.
We're taking Berman. RT @ProFootballTalk: And @greggrosenthal takes Marshall Faulk in the "longest speech" pool.
Deion looks like he's in the groom's party at the rehearsal dinner.
RT @ProFootballTalk: Four of the top five picks from the 1989 draft are Hall of Famers. The only one who isn't? Tony Mandarich.
Ed Sabol's contributions predate the Hall of Fame. That's amazing.
Steve Sabol talking about his father might be the highlight of the night.
"You can't soar like an eagle and crap like a canary." - Ed Sabol. Words to live by.
I love this Ed Sabol induction. Brings back a lot of good memories.
Curt Gowdy? Blast from the past. The Miracle at the Meadowlands stung when I was a young Giants fans.
RT @McClain_on_NFL: Ed Sabol's intro is a walk down memory lane. Wow. So many incredible moments caught by NFL Films.
Nice job by Ed Sabol on his last film.
@BroncosItaly And Al Jolson!
How much money would Richard Dent have made in this era with so much passing? My God.
Richard Dent is everything I would want in a defensive end.
